Turkish Anti-Doping Commission organized an anti-doping online education webinar for the Olympic athletes of the Turkey Athletics Federation on July 8th 2020 between 8 pm to 10 pm through the Zoom platform. The training was provided by the Turkish Anti-Doping Commission’s General Coordinator Prof. Dr. Rüştü Güner. Also, President of the Turkey Athletics Federation Fatih Çintimar participated to the webinar and talked about athletes’ achievements in last 6 years by highlighting the importance of anti-doping education’s role and federation’s work through years.
Prof. Dr. Rüştü Güner explained the comprehensive definition of doping explained in the Code with case examples. Additionally, he informed participants about the health hazards of doping and side effects of Anabolic Steroid use in women and men throughout the training. Prof. Dr. Güner informed participants about COVID-19 doping control system which will be focus on storing doping control samples for long term. By this, samples can be analyzed later with new detection techniques.
At the end of the webinar, Prof. Dr. Rüştü Güner answered questions and completed the training.
